The Ranch - Day 5

After my parents got out of church they came and picked us up and took us back to their place. It was a little bit of a drive. About an hour or so. Driving into the Ranch, it looks like it goes on forever. And it does. But you wonder where you're going. And what kind of place we'll be staying in. And what kind of creatures are around. And then you get there, and you find all of those things out.

The ranch visitor center is actually my parents home
The screened porch goes all the way around the house. I didn't take any pictures of the inside to show the different rooms, but they have their bedroom, and then inside that is a small bathroom and their laundry room. That whole area is about the size of my bedroom & bathroom. My mom has to keep the rest of their 'home' spotless all day in case they have visitors and they need to do a tour. Besides it's all open for them to see.
The first thing the boys did when we got there was found a net and started catching insects, reptiles, you name it. The lizards were all over the screen around the house. And there were little frogs, butterflies, grasshoppers, oh my! My boys were in heaven. And Lexie thought it was pretty cool too.

After dinner, it poured. The thunder out there is SO loud!! Holy cow! You feel like you're inside of it. And the rain...oh man the rain came down. You can see it just running off the roof. We just don't get storms like that at home.

Once the rain finally stopped, we got to feed the deer. Every evening, like clockwork, the deer come out of the jungle (which is what my mom & I call it...it's so thick!) to the side of the house and my mom feeds them corn. She's gone to the local IFA(it's called something else) and bought a 50lb. bag of corn to have on hand. The boys were dying to see the deer and get to feed them...so they did.
And they loved it!
The deer literally come within 10 feet of you. They get spooked pretty easy, but they boys thought this was awesome.
I don't remember why she was naked, but she was loving it. Look at her poke her belly out.

There wasn't much to our first night at the ranch. We got there, ate dinner, fed the deer, caught bugs, did laundry, got settled into the guest house, and went to bed.
