Whiptails Baseball

This season was such a fun one!
Now that they've played together for a couple of years,
they're finally meshing together and actually winning some games!!
It's so much more fun to watch and play when you're winning!

We had the team party at one of the Entrada pools.
Coach gave out trophy's to each of the players for the season,
and a couple of individual trophies.
Noah got one for most improved player!!
And Colby got one for being a sponsor ;)

I'm so proud of this boy for his hard work at practice and the games.
And for the improvements he's made!!

Camping at Beaver

If you ask any of my kids where their favorite place to camp is, I'm pretty sure they'll tell you Beaver mountain. It's mine too ;) This trip was different this year too. Shan & Jennifer still aren't here to camp with us, Makayla & Cory haven't come for a few years, but we've taken on a new camping family member, Kiesha & Brennan and their kids. And we love when they come camp with us!! My kids waited and waited and asked and asked all day long when they were going to be there. And honestly, we didn't know. But when Brennan got there with the boys it was finally 'the best day ever'! And boy are those boys crazy!!
A lot of this trip was actually spent in the trailer because it rained so much. Which was nice because it kept us nice and cool. But kind of a bummer because of the obvious, the kids couldn't really be outside a ton. But when we were outside we fished, drove the razr (Colby taught the boys how to drive), hunted squirrels, shot the bow, and who knows what else. Here's some of what I captured.

I love watching the boys bait, and cast their own poles. They love it too!!
I just love watching them learn new things!

Poor, dang Noah! We took the kids and bought them all new boots for camping. Well, he forgot to pack his. And I've started this thing where I can't be in charge of everyones stuff. So, he's the oldest, he's in charge of his own stuff. So he only had the shoes he wore up, which were his flip flops. Made for some pretty boring days when it was pouring and he had to sit in the trailer.

This silly girl!! Sometimes she hates when I take pictures of her. When that's the case, this is what I get. But I don't care! I'll take whatever pictures of her I can get. I love that I got this silly side of her!! Love this girl so much!

Here's some more of the boys driving the razor.
As crazy as I think it is that they're driving it, I'm glad they're learning young!
They think it's pretty cool, too!

Pioneer Day in Beaver

The 24th of July just wouldn't be the same if we didn't travel up to Beaver to celebrate. This year was a little different because we didn't camp until after the 24th, so we drove home that night, and then back up a couple days later to camp. But, we still celebrated the Beaver way!

Lexie was smart taking cover wherever she could find shade.
It was SO blasted hot!!

After the parade we headed to the park for the foot races. Then up to aunt Linda's house for lunch. Once it was time for the races to start we headed up there in time to watch a few important races.
One of the horses won! Sad I don't know which one, or who even owned it. Oops!
Honestly, the older I get the more I understand the importance of these races. It isn't the money won, or the bragging rights or anything like that. It's the family time. We get almost our whole family out to these races. We all sit together and cheer together, and sometimes even cry together.
Most of my favorite summer memories from my childhood are at these horse races.
I'm so glad I have those memories, and I'm SO glad my kids love going and watching too.

On another note, these cute girls ended up being twinners!!
I guess great minds think alike! ;)

After the races we went back to Linda's and hung out for a while. But we had to get home because Colby had to work the next day, and I had to get us ready to come back up to the mountain for our 24th camping trip!

Fishing at Kolob

We needed to get out of the house, and sort of out of town for the evening. So we loaded up and headed to Kolob to fish. It felt so good to get out of the heat for a little while!
As soon as we got up there, unloaded everything and got set up to fish, the clouds started rolling in. And all of a sudden it was pouring. Colby left the poles in the water and everyone got back in the truck for a little bit while we waited for it to stop.

I LOVE watching Colby with the kids. Especially when he's doing something he loves!!

Look at them out there while it's still raining. I kept trying to get them to come back to the truck, but they weren't having it!

We saw this helicopter come over to the reservoir and we could tell it was filling up or something and then leaving so we wanted to see what was going on. So we loaded up and drove over to by the dam.
We got there just as it came back, landed, filled up, and then took back off. One of the firefighters came over and told us what was going on. Mostly to keep us from driving closer. But there was a small fire they were getting out. The kids thought this was the coolest thing ever.
