My new hobby!!

So...my whole life, well as far as I can remember, my mom has been a sewer. I swear, between her and my grandma, anything could be made, or fixed. It was nice. Quite honestly, I never had the desire to have that talent. At all. I distinctly remember my mom wanting to buy me a sewing machine and I told her not to. It would be a waste of money. And that was really how I felt. When I turned 30, I decided it wouldn't be such a bad idea to finally have a sewing machine. I told my mom that's what I wanted, and I'm sure she was more than thrilled!

Anyway...I have a friend who is an amazing sewer. She helps me alot. One night she showed me this table topper she was making, and I instantly fell in love with it. I had to have one. So she gave me all the dimensions, and I went to town.

Apparently my mom has been telling people I've made a bunch of things.
Really, I've only made a few. I'm sorta just starting out.
But this one was my favorite!!
don't look too close...there's definately room to improve!

Christmas Table Topper

Which adorns my table beautifully!!

My next project includes these amazing fabrics. Colby informed me we need a new bed.
King size.
Since we still have a particular [almost] 3 year old who likes to visit us in the night.
Which means new bedding.
And I found these to make some pillows, and maybe a little throw blanket with.
Can't wait.

I have to admit...I love having a hobby.
It's an expensive one.
But so rewarding!!

Thanksgiving

This year was pretty relaxed.
Thankfully!
We were lucky enough to spend the day with family.
Thankfully!
We are very blessed to be able to eat super yummy food, in a warm cozy home.
Thankfully!

Nothing else can make me more thankful
than these people though

This year I wanted to start a few new traditions.
I wasn't quite prepared though, to make it fun for the kids.
I bought their Christmas jammies and gave to them to start wearing now.
I wanted to wrap them and make it fun for them, but I ran out of time.

I also got each of them a new ornament for their own trees that they have in their rooms.
I tried to either find one that had something to do with their year or name.
I opted for their initial.
And don't have a picture.

Family Pictures

We found out about a new place!
Loved it!!
[thank you Sherie!!]

I just love the looks between Colby & Cutler in this one!!

And you all know this is how you really feel about
family pictures!!

These are just some of my favorites. There are so many that I love.
I'm going to have a hard time
choosing one for our Christmas card.

Parents Day!!

November 15
We finally got to stay and watch Lexie in her little dance class.
I have to admit, I'm not super impressed with what they do.
I sorta felt like they were just running around in circles either holding something, or wearing something.
I mean, that is all they were doing.
2 year olds just don't quite grasp the concept of doing actual dance moves, I guess.
Oh well...
it was still super cute! And so fun to watch her.

First they each chose a baby...
And danced around with her.

Next they got to choose an Ariel costume...and dance around like the mermaids!!

We may have just found her costume for Halloween next year!!
A Cheerleader! They were so cute.
She just needs to work on smiling. Cheerleaders aren't that serious!

Next was a Teddy Bear picnic.
They danced, and ate, and danced some more.

And then they hula hooped.
Ha! It was the cutest ever!!

Every week, when they're done, they get a stamp...
or two!
Then they have a little tea party.

Too early?

Maybe...

but we're ready for it!

On the same note:
This last weekend was another successful
girls weekend!
This time with my family.

We literally shopped til the stores closed.
And got a good start on our Christmas shopping.
H&M and Crate and Barrel opened the day we got up north.
You had to stand in line to go into H&M.
It was crazy. But totally worth it!
And Sunday we woke up to a flat tire.
Not a fun way to start our morning.
But we got it fixed, and we made it home.
I hope we make this a tradition. This was the first year we've ever gone and stayed over night.
It was a total blast staying up way too late, just to eat dinner;
laughing...hard, and shopping to our hearts content.

Updated

For anyone who checks the blog at all.
It sure doesn't seem like anyone looks...
EVER!
But, in case you do...I'm almost completely up to date.
I do however, like things to be in order.
For the most part.
So you'll have to scroll down, and maybe even check the older posts.
Go ahead...check it out!

Halloween!

The day started off the same way it does every year...
At Noah's school.
This year they start earlier, so the parade started earlier.
Not cool. I'm not a morning person.
And neither are the other two people I have to get ready.

Cutler had a party at his school too.
(I didn't drive so I don't have a picture. Waiting for someone to email it to me!)

About 4:30 I started curling Lexie's hair and getting everyone ready.
Now that my parents are back, we have a full schedule again.
We tried to change it up a bit this year, but it backfired on us.

Trick or Treating

at the neighbors

then to the grandparents

What a crazy, fun Halloween [week]
I remember last year saying how I couldn't wait for this year because it would all be on one day.
Boy was I wrong.

Quite honestly, I can't wait for next year!!
