6 months

It truly is amazing to me how fast every single day goes by. I can't believe she's 1/2 a year old!
Length: 25.2 inches - 29th %

Weight: 12 lbs. 9 oz. - 4th %
  • Lexie is getting so much better in the car. I've learned not to leave if she's hungry or tired.
  • She does what I call the 'worm'. Laying on her belly she will scoot her knees up under her belly then push her feet. It's her little way of getting where she needs to go, and it works!
  • Still not doing so great with the solids. She can't quite get the hang of opening her mouth for the spoon. She still wants to suck on it. We're lucky if we get one good meal in a day.
  • Because she doesn't eat solids, she takes a bottle about every 2 hours still. Doesn't matter if it's a 4 oz. or 6 oz. bottle.
  • Her hair seems to be getting lighter, and a lot less of it.
  • She is always moving her feet, mostly her right foot. She moves it in circles, or if I'm holding her and her feet are just dangling she kicks her right foot. (it's kind of funny, because I'm always moving my right foot.)
  • She is finally starting to sit up on her own.
  • She doesn't really talk much. Usually in the morning when she's waking up, and at night while I'm putting her pajamas on she'll jabber a little. Other than that you have to work at getting her to say much. I think she figures her brothers talk enough for all of them.
  • She's going through a little stranger anxiety phase. I hope it goes away as fast as it came.
  • Lexie finally went swimming for the first time. She seemed to like it except for when she would get splashed.

A-a-a choo!

The other day for Cutler's quiet time he was watching a show and eating pretzels. I heard him sneeze, then again, then again. A few minutes went by and he was sneezing again. He came in to me and was picking his nose. I told him to stop, it's a bad habit for him, and then I noticed his eyes were red and watery. But he wouldn't quit picking his nose, or sneezing. I asked him if there was something up there bothering him and he said, "petzo". I thought he was just saying that, so I looked up there just to humor him and sure enough there was a piece of pretzel up his nose. I thought for sure I was going to have to take him to insta care to get it out. I knew there was no way he was going to be able to blow it out. I called Colby, and while I was waiting for him to answer I was telling Cutler to blow into a wipe. And showing him how. I bet that was a funny sight. Just before Colby answered Cutler blew it out. I couldn't believe he did it.

So, I took a picture of it with the ruler so you could see how big it really was. Just think of how little his nostril is. No wonder he was picking his nose, he wanted that thing out of there!

And these are the fruits(or vegetables) of our labors

This is one of our 2 pumpkins we have growing. We tried last year and got nothing. We are so excited for these and can't wait to see how big they get.

Kentucky

This last weekend I took Lexie on her very first plane ride across the country to visit Stef and her family. Here are the highlights:

  • the boys seriously couldn't get enough of Lexie - Jones especially. He was always trying to help me.
  • We did a little shopping. That's always a must, and fun! (I think Lex has a whole new wardrobe.)
  • I finally watched Twilight. Wow. I started the book, only got half way, not because I didn't like it, just because I'm not really a reader. After seeing the movie, I can't wait for the next one.
  • I found a new favorite fast-food...Chik-fil-A! I wish we had one here.
  • Found out I'm not the only one in the world who has boys that don't listen to their parents. It was fun to watch and know I wasn't the one getting mad. Sorry Stef!
  • Did a little sight seeing. Louisville is so pretty! Places included: U of L where Reagan is going to medical school, crossed the Ohio river into Indiana, Colonel Sanders' home, and my personal favorite...Churchill downs! I absolutely love horse races. Now I'm regretting not doing the tour. I'll for sure have to do it next time I go out! Oh and all the pretty homes with ginormous yards. I would love to have a huge yard. I mean like 2 or 3 acres.
The Ohio river with downtown Louisville in the background

Front entrance. My grandpa will be so proud of me. I can't wait to tell him.

I just had to take this picture. Look how much bigger Reese is than Lexie. I know I'm closer to Reese, and that seat just swallows Lexie, but you can still see the difference.

I was so bad and didn't take hardly any pictures. So what ya see here is seriously all we took.

I love this pictures because it totally shows what the boys are like. So fun!!

And now...

I'm warning you right now there's a lot. I love them all. Thanks so much Stef!!

Pine Valley

We met Doug & Janet up there the other night for a dinner. It felt so nice, and was a fun little get-out-of-town-for-the-night thing to do. Noah got his face painted, and Cutler threw a thousand rocks into the creek. The boys were in heaven.

What would my boys do without the mountains?

Tonight at the Labrum's...

haircuts.

Cutler's was the worst. It's probably been about 2 months since his last haircut. Let's just say it will be nice for the summer. Oh, I can't believe I let myself do this.
