Happy Birthday...

Makayla!!

Dixie Roundup

We love going to the rodeo. Up until I got married, I went every single year. And walked the round the whole night.
HA!
That doesn't happen anymore. Thankfully.

We went on kids night. It's always so crowded, but we had a good time.
And our kids actually pretty much just sat and watched the whole thing.

Lexie loved waiving to the Rodeo Princesses!!

Colby even surprised me (earlier in the day) and joined in the fun!
In between some of the events they have little side entertainment going on.
This year...Razor Races.
So right after the barrel racing they added a couple of barrels and they were off.
First 2 smaller razors raced. Then 2 quads (Colby's).
Then the winner of each of those raced each other.
Colby won the whole thing!!

I have to admit...when he told me he was doing it I was not happy about it. All I could imagine was DISASTER!
Wrecking... tipping over... I don't know.
And even until it was over, and there were no injuries, I was a little nervous.
He had fun!
The kids loved watching him! (they didn't even know he was doing it.)
He won!
And it's over.
His prize...Bragging rights!!

Play practice

We have officially began play practice.
Long story of how it all started...but it's here.
This year we're just doing 'Oliver'. One play.
Noah didn't even really want to do it this year, mostly because of the time he had to dedicate to learning all the different dances and songs, and lines, for two plays.

[Food, Glorious Food]

Also this year...
Cutler is joining the cast!!
Last year all he could talk about was being in the play.
He wanted to be an orphan.
We really thought it would be cool if Noah could be Oliver,
but with the missed audition that didn't happen.

He's one of the [sneekers].

So if you're in town during the Dicken's Festival, you'll have to come watch 'Oliver'.
The boys are having so much fun doing it together.

Camping - Beaver Mountains

Labor Day weekend
September 2 - 5

Beaver Mountain is our most very favorite place to camp.
We go every year for the 24th of July. And that's usually it.
This year, Colby is lucky enough to finally have earned his holidays off!
So we took full advantage and got out of town as fast as we could.
Our usual 2 1/2 hour drive up to the mountain took an extra long time this time.
Around 4 hours.
I'll just say, we finally made Cutler pee into a cup in the truck.
No more stopping!
We got there late, it was almost dark. And our usual spot was taken.
So we drove around for about 30 minutes until we finally found a place to set up camp.

I didn't whip my camera out at much as I should have. But here's a glimpse of what we did.
Whiffle ball - don't even know how to spell that ;)
We all played a few games. Good times. It totally took Colby & I back to about middle school!

riding in the razor fishing hiking throwing rocks catching worms target shooting horseshoes shooting squirrels riding bikes
all things boy...
with a little girl following right behind!

That's all. And I'm pretty sure that was the first day.
We had so much fun, and hope to get to do this every year!

Road rash

*If you've ever been on my street, you know that the kids pretty much rule it. We live on a street that has a cul de sac at one end, so most of the traffic lives here and knows that kids are always out there.
Most of the time the kids are on one of the following, but not limited to:
wiggle car, scooter, bike, or power wheel.

Last night I was making dinner while the kids were out playing.
Cutler and one of his little friends were driving the friends 'car' (power wheel).
Apparently, Lexie was holding on to the back of it...dragging.
Yes, dragging behind them.
In the road.
Oh.My.
It seriously makes my legs hurt just thinking about it.

*If you don't want to read the whole story, skip down to the pictures.
So I'm making dinner and hear Lexie coming up the sidewalk to the door, crying.
But not screaming. Like I didn't know it was an 'I'm hurt' cry.
She comes in the house with Noah, and he says she's bleeding.
So then she's crying saying I'm bleeding.
But when she says she's bleeding, sometimes it's like the tiniest scratch. You know?
So I come around the corner just as Colby says Oh Tiffany. Like, this is bad.
She turns around and is holding her shorts up so they don't touch the blood.
Her knees were bright red. Skinned and looked like hamburger.
I almost cried with her. It was so sad. And there's not much  you can do about it.
Clean it up and bandage it. So that's what we did. But it was so sad.
She sat at the sink and held the wet paper towels up to her knees while I hugged her.
We bandaged her up and gave her some tylenol.
She was tramatized. Literally. As soon as we were done she fell asleep for about an hour.

Today they look a little better. A little.

Don't judge the bandaging. This picture was taken after sleeping all night, the tape wouldn't stick anymore, and the bandage had unfolded and was all skiwampas-like.
The bandage on the left dried to the wound. I've tried to get it off, we've held a wet washcloth to it, to try and soak it. She's not about to sit in the tub. Not quite sure what to do. Reagan? Help. Please.
Today she had dance, but since she won't walk, I told her she can't go. She was fine with that.
She has literally made me carry her everywhere today. Until about 3:30.
Needless to say, she pretty much hung out in my bed all day.

Right after this happened last night I was trying to get the whole story. Like why didn't someone stop the car? Noah said he was yelling at them to stop but they wouldn't. I told him if he ever sees something like this to run over there and stop it himself if he has to. Pull the driver out if that's what it takes. This morning I asked Cutler again, Were you in the car while she was dragging. He answered yes. I asked him why they didn't stop. He said they didn't know she was there.
Those cars really are loud when you're driving them. Trust me. I've driven one:)
But I'm not totally buying that they didn't hear her. She was only a foot behind them.

I'm pretty sure my kids now understand why I always get mad at them when they're pulling someone around. Even if they know they're there. I've always known this would happen to someone.
Just hoped it wouldn't ever be one of my kids.

Surprise!!

Saturday was my niece Kadence's birthday. A few weeks ago my mom and I decided we wanted to go up for the party and surprise her. We don't get to see them ever it feels like. So at 6:00 in the morning I piled the kids in the car, picked up my mom, met up with Jennifer and we were on our way.
We made it just in time to change the kids clothes and do hair before her party @ 10:30.

Oh and she was totally surprised!
Makayla had a little rock star party for her where they got their hair glitter and color sprayed, glitter eye shadow, painted finger nails, and tattooes.
The kids, even the boys, had a great time.
No, they really did. I just thought this was a funny picture while we were just waiting to leave.
Lexie wasn't about to let anyone but me do anything to her.

After the party we grabbed some lunch and headed up to the Living Planet Aquarium. I thought it would be a lot bigger, but it was still pretty cool. And it entertained the kids for a few hours so it was great!

After the Aquarium we drove down to Farm Town at Thanksgiving Point.
The kids loved it.
I didn't think it was worth the $5 entry fee. I'm cheap.
For some reason everyone else thought it was pretty funny when Cutler came walking over to me with a chicken egg in his hand. He had climbed the fence, got in their coop, and got back out without anyone of importance noticing. I was so mad at the moment. And I had to climb back over the fence to put it back!
Dang Kid!
We ate dinner at the Old Spagetti Factory where each of the kids got a balloon character.
Then we headed to our hotel and spent the rest of our night there.
The kids loved running from room to room chasing each other.
Sunday morning we got up, drove to Payson to drop Makayla and the girls off, then headed home.
It was such a fun trip!
The kids all loved seeing each other and all played so good together.
And it was even better that it was a surprise!!

Just because they're cute!

A couple of weeks ago my cousin got married. While we were sitting at the reception these two girlies were having a great time just running around with each other.
They were being so cute so I snapped a few pictures of them.
