Easter

This is all there is.
Honestly.

Easter Sunday

I always get a picture of my kids Easter Sunday before church.
This year church is at 1:00.
I got my pictures, and was late for church.
Go figure!
But I don't care ;)
Last year I forgot to get them before, so we did them after and they just aren't as good.

Also every year our tulips are up for Easter. This year it was too cold, so they weren't out yet.
They came out the next week and the wind blew them to pieces.
Sad!

Annual Neighborhood Egg Hunt

Each year it gets harder and harder to find a day that works for everyone to do the egg hunt. You would think the Saturday before Easter would be the best, but it doesn't seem to work out anymore. This week we did it the Monday before. We didn't have that great of a turnout, but it was still fun. My kids look forward to it every year. And it's 100 times better than trying to find another egg hunt somewhere in town.

We split the kids up so the little ones have a good chance of getting a lot of eggs. So we send the big kids up into the cul de sac, and the little ones start down at the start of the street.

Darcy, McKenna, Maddix, Cutler, Owen, Drake, Noah

Reggie, Brody, Jonah, Maya, Lexie, Callen, Eli, Emmett, Izzy, Bridger

Three little best friends!! They spend as much time as possible with each other every day!
Next door best friends are the best ;)

As usual, Noah was gone before I could take any pictures of him.
Besides, he's kind of the clean up boy ;)
Each family is supposed to hide/put out 12 eggs per child in their family. We all do way more
just to make sure they all get a decent amount.
And every year, when the kids are all done, the big kids go back through the whole neighborhood and find about 10 more. I think that's Noah's favorite part!!

After the egg hunt we eat. Because, what good is a party without food?!
We've learned that for some get togethers, like this one, getting pizza is the easiest thing.
So Little Caesars pizza and breadsticks it was. Plus a few extras: salad, fruit, and cookies.

I say this every time I do a post about my neighborhood, but it's true...We love our neighbors! We couldn't ask for better people to live by! And having all the kids is a huge bonus too ;)

#4 is finally on its way!!!

Due September 6

We told the kids back in February
They were super excited!!

We told each of our parents with the ultra sound.
I went to lunch with my parents and told them I had something to show them.
And I wanted to know what they thought.
When I pulled the u.s. out, it took my mom a minute to figure out what I was saying.
My dad caught on right away.

I had some pictures for Janet of our family.
When I went to give them to her, I had the u.s. at the end of them.
When she was done looking I had to re-show her the u.s.
She said she saw it, but just thought it got put in there somehow and that it wasn't mine.

Kent & Sherie were over for dinner one Sunday night.
I had Lexie run into the living room with the u.s. and tell them to look at the pictures.
This was the same night we told our kids.
They hadn't seen the ultra sound yet.

Everyone is super excited for us, which helps us a ton!!
I've been super nauseous the whole time. And not really puky, but I feel horrible.
I'm older than I wanted to be when I had my last baby, and my body is reminding me daily.
And it's been a while since we've done this. It's kind of like doing it for the first time again.
But we're happy, and very excited!!
I can't wait to find out what this baby is.

Another major owie for the Miss

Lexie smashed her finger in the front door. Like, literally smashed it.
I was out front, heard her shut the door and then immediately start screaming. I could tell the door shut weird so I knew what she'd done. When she got over to me it was dripping blood. I picked her up and took her to the bathroom to run it under the water, hoping it would stop bleeding and relieve the pain a little. This happened right around 4:30 and at 9:30 it was still bleeding. I had given her some tylenol and wrapped it up. I was trying everything to help her out. She pretty much didn't leave my side the rest of the night. I wasn't sure if taking her in was the right thing to do. I don't think they could have really done anything for her, other than take her fingernail off, and maybe stitch it up. But I didn't want them to do that.
At about 8:45 I called my neighbor who is a nurse, and her husband an EMT. I thought they could at least tell me whether I should take her to the hospital or not. But they weren't much help.
I decided not to take her, and the next morning when it was still bleeding, kind of wished I would have.

You can tell it broke skin on the front, and bruised the back.
Her finger literally doubled in size and stayed swollen for a few days.
It was the saddest day...again!

**update: her fingernail never fell off. The new one just grew out and pushed the old one up and off.

Easter pics

My FABULOUS photographer did it again!! Tiffany is seriously the best! And my kids love her, which is a huge plus ;)
I had her just do a mini session for Easter pics. This year I just wasn't up for the challenge of trying to do them myself, plus, I know I don't do a good job. And I wanted good ones.

We did a few in her studio, then went down to the orchard and got some more! She had bought these chicks, I loved the idea, and I loved watching my kids with them. They weren't quite sure what to think of them. It was pretty funny ;) Other than these first few that I'm not quite sure what Lexie's hair was doing, and some fake smiles, I love them!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE
