Pinewood Derby

This year we thought Noah was going to have the best car, hands down!
He and Colby had done some research and thought they had figured out how to build
it to be the fastest. They took their plans to grandpa Miller, and built it.
They thought by adding bullets to the back of the car, it would put the weight back there to push it down the track.
The plan backfired.
Bad!

His first run it wobbled so much it jumped tracks and wrecked the car next to it.
They let him rerun it, and it did the same thing.
The next 'official' time he ran it, the same thing happened again, and they didn't let him redo it.
Colby and another dad went over to the table and tried to do some modifications to fix the problem, but they figured out the bullets in the rear were too heavy, and making it lift off the track. They added some  weight to the front to try and weigh it down and it helped a little, but didn't really fix it.
The next time he ran, it stayed on the track, but was so heavy it didn't make it to the finish line.
By then Noah was so frustrated, and probably embarrassed a little that he picked the car up and acted like he was going to throw it.
Poor sportsmanship doesn't fly with me so I pulled him out into the hall and had a little chat with him.
We learned our lesson, and let's just say we're glad we're done with Pinewood Derby cars for a couple of years.
We've loved it while we were a part of it, but we need a break ;)

Ya know that sounds like my brother a 100 yrs ago! Oh how he thought he had it in the bag. It was a Danjanovich trade mark to do something different and it didn't work out however it was a good life experience!
Love you all so much!!!
