Lexie's 2 much fun

May 15th was Lexie's last day in her cute little '2 much fun' dance class. So, they of course have a little review of all the songs they dance to, and we can come watch her. I was so excited because we haven't seen her dance since November! All of her grandma's were there to watch too.
At first she was a little hesitant to go get dressed. So I took her over to Miss Cassie, and she helped her get her little outfit on. I went back to take pictures and enjoy the show! Well, the show was short lived! She danced the first song, and that was it. Literally! I'm glad I took these pictures because it's all I got.

I tried and tried to bribe her with everything I could think of to get her to go back out there.
But nothing. She wasn't about to.
She didn't even want to go out with her dad and have a little picnic!

She wouldn't even let me take a picture of her and Miss Cassie.
When it was all over, and we got into the car I started feeling bad. Is that so mean? I was so annoyed that she wouldn't go out there. She had done it before, but this time there were a lot more people, and it just scared her to death. Thinking about it now, I can't believe I wasn't more sympathetic to her.
Hopefully next year she'll be a little less shy!

Sarge

Sarge is Cutler's little stuffed dog. He never left his sight...until one day he was gone. We didn't really notice him missing until we got back from our cruise last year. I just figured Cutler packed him and he would either show up at someone's house, or he was left in Cedar when Gramma Sherie took them camping. We pretty much considered him gone forever. It was truly the saddest thing. Almost daily I would ask Cutler "Where's Sarge?" Kinda just to be funny, but to remind him that we miss him.

Well, one night the kids were in bed, suppose to be sleeping. I could hear Cutler in his room getting into things, and I was only minutes away from going in there and telling him to get to bed. All of a sudden he walks out of his room, hands behind his back, and a big ol' grin!

"Guess what I found?" he says. What? says me
Then he pulls him out!

I literally almost cried! It was honestly the happiest night of my life. I had to hold him and smell him and just hug him. I really missed him like he was mine!

Oh Sarge!! We missed you!!

You better believe that dog went with us everywhere for a week straight.

Mother's Day

Being a mom is truly the greatest blessing in my life! It's the one thing I knew I wanted to be when I grew up! I honestly didn't ever really see myself doing any other job. And I was fine with that!!
I love my kids more than anything, and they know it! [just ask them!]
I don't claim to be the best mom in town, but I try the best I know how. And I have a lot of amazing examples around me, for which I am extremely grateful!!

This year I was completely spoiled with breakfast in bed!! French toast, my favorite!

And for our moms, I made these photo puzzles.
A lot more work than I thought they would be, but totally worth it. There's a different picture for each side of the block. I should have made one for myself while I was at it.

Red Cliffs

May 5

Colby has been wanting to take us up to Red Cliffs for a while now. So one Saturday after baseball games we decided to drive up there. I haven't been in forever!! so it was a lot of fun taking the kids and showing them one of the cool places we live by!

Cutler is always the first to jump in and try something new. If it has anything to do with water!!

Noah is a little more hesitant

Bryce Canyon and Flat Stanley

April 27-28
A while back Colby won a night up at a Bryce Canyon Hotel. We had never found a time to go, but it expired on May 1st, and we wanted to use it. We had pretty much come to terms with the fact that it was just going to go to waste. Somehow it all worked out...my parents took the two little ones to Payson with them to visit my sister, Noah stayed at gramma Sherie's, and we were in the car and on our way literally within 30 minutes of my parents driving away.

We got up there pretty late, but we didn't care. We met up with our friends at the hot tub, who won the same thing. We enjoyed a nice quiet night, in our huge room, with no drapes. Really!! And a street light right outside our window. If you know Colby, that didn't go over well...at all! (he sleeps with a black sock covering the alarm clock so there's NO light in the room)

In the morning we got up and got ready to explore Bryce. I had never been before so it was a fun experience for me. I'm gonna get a little sappy for a minute and just say...Utah is so beautiful!!! I can't believe the things we have here, that we{I} take for granted.

We walked up a few trails, and took a ton of pictures. Mostly because of Flat Stanley. Smith sent him to Noah a while back and we kept either forgetting to take him, or we were busy with just normal life, so we took him with us so he could see our beautiful state!!

Colby was so funny. He would hide Flat Stanley literally until the minute I was ready to take the picture. It was like he was embarrassed to pull him out. He had me laughing so hard I was crying, the whole day. I'm glad we had Flat Stanley to keep us laughing. The funny thing was he kept saying, I'm glad we have him. It's making us take pictures. So Thank you Smith for sending Flat Stanley to Utah!! We loved taking him on our little getaway!!

We never get to go away overnight without our kids, unless it's a big vacation.
It was so fun just the two of us, just one night.

Zion National Park

April 22

We decided Sunday after Stake Conference to ride up to Zion. The whole week was Free National Park Day, so we took advantage. We haven't been to Zion since we were married. We took our engagement pictures up there :) Noah was just a toddler!! [it's so funny to think he was that little]

Anyway...it was such a nice day.
Not hot.
No wind.
Not a lot of people.

Cutler was our tour guide

First we headed down to get on the shuttle.

We rode the bus for a little while and got off at Colby's favorite place...
Weeping Rock

We all thought this place was pretty cool.
Then we took the shuttle to the last stop where we got out and the kids did their very most favorite thing ever...
throw rocks in the water.
Not sure what's so exciting about it, but they love it.

When we got back to the truck we took the kids through the tunnel.
[pictures to come]
They loved it!!

Going to Zion made Colby and I ask ourselves why we don't go there more often.
It's so pretty, it's close, our kids love being outside.
We might just have to buy a pass!!

Field Day

April 10

Noah qualified at his school to run in the 200m and 400m for the school field day. Cutler, Lexie and I went to the high school to watch him. He didn't know we were coming so it was fun to surprise him.
First he ran the 200m

He did really good during the race, but ended up not placing.

He only had about a 20 minute break and then had to run the 400m.
All the way around that big track.

Right here he went full throttle, and beat the other kid by 1 second!!

He wasn't hurt, just tired.

Good job Noah!!
We had fun watching you.

Happy Birthday...

papa Kent!!
