Mason's One year olds

We actually did Mason and Cutler's pictures on the same day
It just worked best that way

It was very hot!!
After about 45 minutes we were both a sweaty mess!
We ended up over by the splash pad so I stripped Mason down and let him play.
He loved it!!
Can't believe you're (almost) ONE!!

Cutler's Baptism photos

Cutler is 8!
Which means a baptism is right around the corner.
Once again thanks to my amazing friend Tiffany
I have some amazing pictures of a very handsome boy!!

Raingutter Regata

We've never been a part of a Raingutter Regatta before, so this was fun. With Colby pretty much out of commission right now, we get to enlist grandpa's for help! Thankfully, we have some pretty crafty grandpas. Cutler asked my dad to help him and this is his boat they came up with.

They had rules that it had to be made out of a milk carton, and had to be so long and so wide and who knows what else.
But it all came together and he had fun!
That's what matters, right?!

Flag Football

Cutler really wanted to play tackle football this year, but thankfully, he's not old enough! By grade anyway. We got him signed up for flag football and thankfully he got pulled onto a great little team with a fun coach. He's on the Seahawks and he loves it!!

First day of Kindergarten

Today couldn't come fast enough…for Lexie.
It came way too quick for me!!
She could hardly stand that the boys got to start last week,
and she had to wait. But…the day finally came and 12:45 takes all day to get here!
Last night I read her The Night Before Kindergarten
and I'm not gonna lie, I got a little choked up and had to fight the tears.
Thankfully, she's only gone for part of the day.
I don't know what I'll do next year when she's gone all day.

She was so sick of me taking pictures.

I went back at the end of the day to see her get on the bus.
I can't believe she's riding the bus!
And she loves it!

She said it was the best day ever!
It helps when you're past ready to go!
And when you have the best teacher!!

Post Radiation

I had to document what Colby looks like after a Radiation treatment. I am so amazed that he's able to lay attached to the table for 45 minutes every day. The proof is on his forehead!

Happy Birthday to Cutler

We started the day off with his breakfast request: #8 pancake with whipped cream and strawberries. Then it was off to school for the day.

He got lots of fun presents
(but apparently I only got a picture of the globe)

His dinner choice was Buffalo Wild Wings.
Some of our family met us there to celebrate.
They had a waiter come over with a mic and flashing light. He announced that it was Cutler's birthday and then had him name his favorite animal, which happened to be a buffalo
Then he had him make the sound of a buffalo into the mic!
SO funny!!
Then we all said Happy Birthday and they gave him this yummy dessert.

Once we got home the rest of the family met up with us for cake and presents.

He's a pretty lucky boy!
We love you Cutler, more than we can say!!
And we're SO glad your ours!!

Danjanovich Family Pics

I think we'll be doing lots of family pictures this year. If there's one thing we've learned, it's that you never know what's around the corner! Being completely blindsided by brain cancer has made us 'try' to not take one day for granted! You just never know…

First day of {NEW} School

Oh... I've been excited and nervous and scared and everything all at once for these boys today. For the past few days, actually! Moving into a new house means a new school. New everything for us! After a crazy summer, school is finally started! And these boys are SO excited, and a little nervous too.

Thankfully, he still likes to be seen with me! He let me take him for the first day and come to his classroom. Not sure how many more years I have of this!!

Lexie doesn't start for another week! Not sure how she's going to make it!

Radiation Mask

We had a doctor appointment today with the Radiation Oncologist here in town, Dr. Craig Donaldson. He gave us A LOT of information, which was good, but I'm not sure we remember much of it. He did  explain the treatment plan, which was the same as what Dr. Hunter had talked to us about, along with all of the side effects Colby may or may not experience. Because they're radiating his head (brain), he'll lose his hair, tiredness, and can have some sunburned skin. Also, because they're radiating his spine, they say he could get nauseous, and experience some throat soreness. There are a ton more side effects he told us about but I can't remember them all. After we met with him, they took us back into a room where they had him lay on a table like he was going into the machine for an MRI, they had to measure him and mark him with tattoos so that he lines up exactly the same every time he gets radiation. Then they made his mask. CRAZIEST thing!!

This was so interesting! Doesn't it look like it would make you claustrophobic?
The mask was flat, they put it in a steamer to heat it up and make it flexible, then they have to hurry and put it over your face so it can form to you. The white edges snap down onto the table so it's tight. Then they made marks on it, you can see where the lasers are, that's how they line him up to make sure they radiate the exact spot each time.
Modern technology is amazing!!!
Radiation starts August 6
